  2. Applying to University Ensure a proactive approach to future destinations by researching now; We want to continue to these highly motivated students; Important to set realistic yet ambitious targets; 18 months until final exams; any preparation now is beneficial.

  3. Where to start? Maintain those high aspirations; Do your research: Oxbridge - open days - scholarships and bursaries - summer schools and work experience; - Extra assessments and experiences: does the course require external assessments?

  4. Career Paths and Courses Start to narrow down options. Even if no specific career path, which subjects do you want to pursue? Consider grades: what is realistic, yet still ambitious? What can you start doing to make yourself stand out in a competitive field? Does your child want to stay local or look further afield?

  5. Open Days Many of these will take place pre-October 2023; Information about scholarships and summer schools are available; The best way to make final choices.

  6. Scholarships and Bursaries Students need to be proactive about finding these now; There are scholarships available for a broad range of subjects, often for academic excellence; These can be found via universities or colleges directly; The UCAS website provides a range of information on these two support mechanisms.
