Precision Measurement Tools for Accurate Engineering Tasks
Explore a range of precision measurement tools such as rulers, protractors, calipers, micrometers, and more. Learn about the various parts and functions of a vernier caliper, how to measure with vernier calipers, and the usage of electronic micrometers, depth gauges, and height gauges. These tools are essential for ensuring precise measurements in engineering and manufacturing processes.

RULER Scale (divisions in an inch)
PARTS OF VERNIER CALIPER 1. Outside large jaws: Used to measure external diameter or width of an object 2. Insidesmall jaws: Used to measure internal diameter of an object 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Retainer: Used to block movable part to allow the easy transferring of a measurement Depth probe: Main scale: Main scale: Vernierscale: Vernierscale: Used to measure depths of an object or a hole Scale marked everymm Scale marked in inches and fractions Gives interpolated measurements to 0.1 mm or better Gives interpolated measurements in fractions of an inch
MEASURING WITH VERNIER CALIPERS 1.The Main Scale is similar to a ruler. Each unit on this scale is divide into ten subdivisions, measuring 1/10 (.1) of a unit. 2. Vernier Scale or Secondary Scale is also divided into ten subdivisions, with each measuring 9/100 (.09) of a unit on the main scale.
