DEPARTMENT OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen (PMAY-G) GOA
PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA GRAMEEN (PMAY - G) The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Grameen (PMAY - G) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme which was replaced from earlier housing scheme i.e. Indira Awas Yojana (IAY). The scheme was launched on 2nd October 2018 in the State of Goa. Under the scheme, an amount of Rs.1.20 lakhs as assistance is given to the beneficiary for construction of house. The beneficiaries under the scheme are identified as per Socio Economic Caste Census 2011. Objective of Scheme: To provide basic housing and homestead to families covered under Socio Economic Caste Census 2011 of rural areas. Benefits of the Scheme: Assistance to the tune of Rs.1,20,000/- for construction of a house. Eligibility Criteria: The Beneficiaries have been selected using housing deprivation parameters in the Socio Economic and Caste Census 2011 data.
PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA GRAMEEN (PMAY - G) Physical & Financial Achievement under PMAY-G Scheme since inception Name of the Programme Installment/ Sanctioned Revised Target Unit Target Total 1st 257 2nd Installment No. of Houses 228 1707 257 Final Completed Installment / 183 Central State Total Expenditure Financial (Rs. in lakhs) 284.78 189.86 474.64 288.77 2619 names were appeared in Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 housing beneficiaries list in State of Goa. All these names were sent to the various Village Panchayats so that the names could be approved at their Gram Sabha Meetings. However most of the names were deleted/rejected since some of the beneficiaries have constructed their houses on their own during the intermediate period and few beneficiaries were migrants and could not be traced comprising mostly of labour force.
PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA GRAMEEN (PMAY - G) Convergence: 1. A new domestic gas connection is proving to the PMAY-G beneficiaries through Goa Grameen Urja Yojana (GGUY) who does not posses gas connection. 2. Through Electricity Department under Subhagya Scheme, the PMAY-G beneficiaries are being providing with electricity connection. 3. Similarly, PMAY-G beneficiaries can also take benefit under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-R) if the beneficiary does not have a toilet.
PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA GRAMEEN (PMAY - G) Challenges faced for implementation of PMAY-G: 1.Most of the beneficiaries identified don t possess own land since migrant. The delay in utilization is due to un-availability of raw materials i.e. laterite stones & sand on time and also sometimes due to unavailability of skilled labour for completion of PMAY-G sanctioned houses. Besides above there are several other reasons for poor response from the beneficiaries as the State has other parallel housing schemes i.e. Atal Ashra Yojana run by Directorate of Social Welfare & Directorate of Tribal Welfare respectively of State Government. These schemes target the individual beneficiaries from SC, ST & OBC categories and the assistance provided is more than the assistance provided under PMAY-G. Benefits: A. Directorate of Tribal Welfare for Scheduled Tribes (ST): 1) New / Re Construction - Rs.3,00,000/- 2) Repair of House - Rs.1,50,000/- 2. 3. B. Directorate of Social Welfare for Scheduled Caste (SC),Other Backward Classes (OBC) & Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 1) New Construction - Rs.3,00,000/- 2) Re Construction - Rs.2,50,000/- 2) Repair of House - Rs.1,50,000/-
