  16. Ci ti zenshi p Test The Citizenship Test is in state code and required for every student to graduate from high school. WV State Code 18-2-9. Required Courses of Instruction Beginning the 2018-2019 school year, students in the public schools shall be administered a test the same as or substantially similar to the civics portion of the naturalization test used by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services between their ninth and twelfth grade years as an indicator of student achievement in the area of civics education. The test results may be reported in the aggregate to the county board for evaluation by the board s curriculum director and reported to the board members. Ci ti zenshi p Test A county can create their own Citizenship Test The number of questions is determined by each county (recommended minimum of 10) The scores are maintained at the county level How the information is shared is determined by each county Each county must maintain a record that every senior graduating has taken the test. There is no score requirement (county-level decision) 17
