Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility, commonly affecting the knees. X-rays are used for diagnosis, but they may not always correlate with pain levels. Risk factors include age, previous joint injuries, and family history. Management options range from self-care to surgery, with conservative methods and rehabilitation playing key roles in improving quality of life for individuals with osteoarthritis.
