I’d like to talk today about a website I’m working on to help with weather planning for occultations. It’s still under development, but I think there’s enough so far to warrant some discussion and feedback.
"OccuWeather is a valuable tool designed to assist in occultation weather planning, aiding participants like Kai Getrost at the IOTA North America Annual Meeting in Cleveland, OH on 16 July 2023. It provides full-browser scale imagery, displays event paths on live weather forecasts, and offers a consistent interface across providers. While it has advantages like showing UTC and local time, there are some limitations such as missing features on original provider websites, limited events (most are manually added), and a restricted number of providers. Suggestions for enhancements are welcome, but they must meet technical and legal requirements to be implemented."
