  1. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY An Introduction for new Inductees

  2. CURRENT OFFICERS President: Justin Shaw Vice President : Linda Jia Secretary: Allison Marvel Treasurer: Jess Chang Patriot Tutor Coordinator: Anahita Iyer Advisors Mrs. McLaughlin and Mrs. Yoder Room D-223

  3. National Honor Society Values Scholarship Cumulative GPA must remain above a 3.5 Leadership - Experience from various sports teams, clubs, religious organizations, etc. Service - Volunteer activities in the school and the community Character - Positive qualities including honesty, respect, etc.

  4. NHS MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Attend meetings (3-4 a year) Check email regularly to sign up for events During the scholastic year, assist with at least 4 NHS-sponsored events for a total of 15 hours of NHS school & community service Maintain above a 3.5 GPA Uphold the values of NHS (Scholarship, Leadership, Service, & Character) Pay Annual Dues Don t get in trouble in school or the community

  5. INDUCTION ATTIRE Dress like you are going to a fancy dinner Boys Dress Pants and dress shoes, button down shirt with a tie Girls dress pants/shirt/dress with dress shoes nothing too revealing Phones should be away during ceremony leave in cafeteria or with your parents.

  6. INDUCTION PROCESS IN CAFETERIA 1. Arrive dressed by 6:00 in cafeteria 2. Check in, line up in 2 lines as assigned 3. We will review the process here. 4. Listen and pay attention as needed.

  7. INDUCTION PROCESS THE CEREMONY 1. At 7:00, we will process into the auditorium in 2 lines 2. You will walk up the steps to your seat on stage 3. After several speeches, you will be asked to refer to your program to recite the NHS pledge 4. Then, your name will be called to come to center stage to receive your certificate and pin. 4. On your way back to your seat, you will be given a flower. 5. Return to your original seat. 6. Wait for the ceremony to end enjoy the reception in the lobby give someone your flower

  8. YOU WILL NOT BE INDUCTED IF WE DO NOT HAVE YOUR CONTRACT OR $20 DUES Financial hardships may see Mrs. McLaughlin to discuss Find me in Room d-223 tomorrow if you forgot today.

  9. YOU WILL NOT BE INDUCTED IF YOU DID NOT RSVP IT WAS DUE ON 10-28 AND 16 OF YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT AS OF TODAY

  10. PARENTS MAY NOT ENTER AUDITORIUM UNTIL 6:30 Tell your parents there will be plenty of seats

  11. EXPECTATIONS Be the best of the best.
