THE RESPONSIVE READING
Ephesians 3:1-13
(NIV)
WORSHIP LEADER:
For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles
CONGREGATION:
Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for
you
:
WORSHIP LEADER:

That is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly
CONGREGATION:

In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ
,
WORSHIP LEADER:

which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by
the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.
CONGREGATION:
This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel,
members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
WORSHIP LEADER:
I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of
his power
CONGREGATION:
Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to
preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ,
WORSHIP LEADER:
And to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was
kept hidden in God, who created all things.
CONGREGATION:
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made
known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms
WORSHIP LEADER:
A
ccording to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord
CONGREGATION:
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
WORSHIP LEADER:
TOGETHER:
I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your
glory.

THE GUEST MESSENGER
A Women Day’s Message . . .
FROM THE FIRST LADY
Psalm 133:1 (KJV) states “ Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in
unity!”
The word dwell has the thought of sitting down quietly and remaining together. Thoughts in the
word include being settled, abiding together as in a marriage – most of us are quite aware of what it
mean to commit to an institution such as marriage. However, this implies a continuous and
permanent relationship that begins here in this world and continues throughout eternity!
“Together in unity” implies being united or joined into one unit. In John 17 our Lord prayed for this
unity to be maintained between His own. God maintains this unity even though man has failed in
displaying outward unity. He was leaving His own in a world that has been and would continue to be
at enmity to Him. He desired that we would be kept from this world and its way.
We have seen great machines running with great precision and very little commotion. The parts are
dwelling together in unity; all are working in perfect order, because they are well put together. The
family of God is like a great machine. The setting of the members in the Body is under the
supervision of the great Engineer, who brings us into the spirit of harmony, through the
communication of His own Spirit.
So when the engineer finds that there is friction in any of the parts, he puts on a little lubrication oil,
and thus prevents injury. When the parts are worn smooth, there is little danger of friction so, with
the members of the Body of Christ. When we are new in the Body we must expect some friction, and
then those who have been in the Body longer should exercise more of the Spirit of the Lord.
However, we should be very sure of our own spirit, of our intention.
Even if the one causing friction should not be of the Body, even if she were a stranger no part of the
machine to which she is attaching herself—there would be all the more need of oil. We should
therefore, remember that no matter how well developed each member may be, she will need the Holy
Spirit. If we find any member unendurable or unbearable, we should go to the Lord in prayer and ask
for more of His Spirit to fall upon us, that we may exercise more patience and more kindness in
dealing with the one. So shall we be pleasing to the Lord, and helpful in building one another up and
in doing good unto all mankind, especially to the Household of Faith.
I thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that He has allowed me to be ministered by some of our
great fallen warriors of Zion as well as those who continue to remain on the battlefield for the Lord.
We as sisters of the Mount Zion Christian Baptist Church have a rich legacy, but we will never
appreciate it unless we embrace that legacy.

A Message from the chairperson…Sheila Wilson-Sebro
A Godly woman is secure in Christ and can only be moved by Him. Trials and tribulations may
surround her but she is not afraid. Her house is built upon the Rock. A woman who is Living her
life with a purpose and being rooted and grounded in the word, may feel emotions rising, and
may want to give in to things that demise the work of the flesh; like, sexual immorality, impurity,
sensuality, jealousy, DIVISIONS, envy, and drunkenness. However, she fears the Lord her eyes
stay on the one that carries her. She is committed and dedicated to the life that He has chosen for
her. That is why she is able to produce good fruit like self-control, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, love-joy and peace. And because of this she will never be put to shame.
Women of Zion! God did not design us to be divided; our roots will never have a foundation to
hold them down if we continue to be divided. Let us take a look back at one of the women in
the bible -
Ruth
who had good sense to listen to someone older and wiser than herself, most of us
could learn a lot from her, she was loyal.
Now, let us take a look at the women of Zion past and present. Our past has paved the way for
our future to continue those accomplishments and experiences that our past have left behind let
us not forget and re-write our Zion Women’s history. Continuing writing Zion Women’s History
we may not have known them all personally but their presents and accomplishments have
enriched our lives one way or another.
Ladies let’s build on this foundation so that the ones that are coming behind us won’t have a
difficult time, so they will see there is no limit to where they can go thru Our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tear hers
down.
(Prov:14:1)
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
(prov.31:28)
Remembering our fallen sisters: I see our fallen sisters vision through their children,
grandchildren -look at their names listed below, then look at their pictures and try to
capture the vision that’s in their eyes…What do see? Separation or Unity I see wise women
who helped build this house of God with unity regardless of whether or not they had a
direct or indirect part in it. Now! are we going to be the foolish ones and tear it down? Or!
will we be the ones who carry this legacy into the next generation so that others can look at
our names and envision our dedication to the Lord, like our grandmothers, godmothers,
mothers, daughters, sisters, etc. have done. Remember, what we leave behind will be the
history the future will base their legacy upon – be it division or unity.
Maya Angelou postulate, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it,
change your attitude. Don’t complain.”
In closing, I would like to thank each and every one of you that played a part in this year’s
women day ministry.

THE PURPOSE OF THE BROOM
Jumping the broom is symbolic of binding and prosperity of a couple.  The
thought was to pass the broom and this would allow the next chairperson to
be as creative as they want.  The most important things is that passing it
would honor and respect those who set the footprints for us; it would
hopefully bring the Sistahs of Zion together to be committed to work
together and it would represent the strength, love and togetherness which
is essential to working together.
The straw of the broom represents family (Sistahs of Zion); the handle
represents the Almighty (God) and the ribbon represents the tie that
binds the Sistahs of Zion together!

Let us take a look back at one of the women in the bible -Ruth who had good sense to listen to someone older and wiser than herself, most of us could learn a lot from her, she was loyal. Now, let us take a look at the women of Zion past and present. Our past has paved the way for our future to continue those accomplishments and experiences that our past have left behind let us not forget and re-write our Zion Women s history. Continuing writing Zion Women s History we may not have known them all personally but their presents and accomplishments have enriched our lives one way or another. Ladies let s build on this foundation so that the ones that are coming behind us won t have a difficult time, so they will see there is no limit to where they can go thru Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tear hers down.(Prov:14:1)Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: (prov.31:28) Remembering our fallen sisters: I see our fallen sisters vision through their children, grandchildren -look at their names listed below, then look at their pictures and try to capture the vision that s in their eyes What do see? Separation or Unity I see wise women who helped build this house of God with unity regardless of whether or not they had a direct or indirect part in it. Now! are we going to be the foolish ones and tear it down? Or! will we be the ones who carry this legacy into the next generation so that others can look at our names and envision our dedication to the Lord, like our grandmothers, godmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters, etc. have done. Remember, what we leave behind will be the history the future will base their legacy upon be it division or unity. Maya Angelou postulate, If you don t like something, change it. If you can t change it, change your attitude. Don t complain. In closing, I would like to thank each and every one of you that played a part in this year s women day ministry.

  12. THE PURPOSE OF THE BROOM J umping the broom is symbolic of binding and prosperity of a couple. T he thought was to pass the broom and this would allow the next chairperson to be as creative as they want. T he most important things is that passing it would honor and respect those who set the footprints for us; it would hopefully bring the S istahs of Z ion together to be committed to work together and it would represent the strength, love and togetherness which is essential to working together. T he straw of the broom represents family (S istahs of Z ion); the handle represents the A lmighty (G od) and the ribbon represents the tie that binds the S istahs of Z ion together!
