With a four-year graduation rate of 31.0% , first-
time students in the McNeese State University class
of 2015 who attended classes full-time had a
graduation rate which was the national average.
After six years, the graduation rate was 40.8% and
by 2019 ,43.0% of this class had completed their
degrees.
With a six-year graduation rate of 47.8% ,
returning students in the McNeese State University
class of 2015 who attended classes full-time were
less likely than average to graduate in a reasonable
time. After eight years, the graduation rate was
50.8%.

always something going on in between and after classes.
From Greek life to multicultural clubs and events, there is a
place for you to find your niche at McNeese.
 At McNeese, they have three different councils within Greek
Life. Within those councils, they have a total of 14 active Greek
organizations on campus since Jun 27, 2018.
McNeese also have a couple of
Christian worship organizations.
McNeese also has department-based clubs designed for
nurses and engineers working within that field.
It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 5,882 (since fall
of 2021).
McNeese State University is a Comprehensive institution
that is in Lake Charles, LA, in a suburban area/setting.
 
Cost of Choice

- Students must pay the following costs:
Fall Semester is 4,500 a year for tuition.
Spring Semester is also 4,500 a year for tuition.
Fall Semester books are 650 a year.
Spring Semester books are also 650 a year.
And $8,538 – $11,188 a year for housing and meal plans
(Which is an option).
So, in total, 1 year of tuition combined is $21,488 Max.
 McNeese offers a variety of internships and jobs that are
available through the contact of The Internship Coordinator and
The Human Resources and Student Employment Department
for a chance at your career.
 McNeese offers a variety of financial Assistance for those
who need them via their Office of Financial Aid, which also
includes things like Sports, Band , Choir, Dance, etc.…
 
Academic Match
 
- You need a minimum of an overall 2.35 High
School GPA and a Minimum ACT score of 20-25 to be
admitted for the first-time freshman route course.
If you go for the transfer student route you need a
grade of a C or higher in a college-level English and a
college-level Math class, a cumulative GPA of 2.0 on
all college-level academic courses, which make
you eligible to return to the institution from which
you are transferring to.
- The average GPA of McNeese is 3.47, which
requires you to be around average in your High
School Classes. You'll need a mix of A's and B's, and
very few C's. If you have a lower GPA, you can
compensate with harder courses like AP or IB
classes, which help academically.
