Start with a lowest level, level one conversation with your administration regarding SLT What to do if SLT is NOT involved or is not appropriately elected, meeting, etc. requirements. Reach out to your UniServ Director to request a training for your school. Keep your UD in the loop around where your school is in the SLT process so they can support you and offer next steps as needed.
Utilize the group most closely aligned with the SLT in your plan. INNOVATION: Our school does not have an SLT. What do we do? Ask for transparency so that all educators and families feel safe and know that their voices have been part of the decision making process.
BritaMarelloSLTExample_Trim.mp4 Example Story
You are a team of voices - one person cannot create action consistently. Engage all SLT members in this process. Consistent meeting times that happen. As the DCTA Rep, you hold the SLT accountable for executing the requirements. This means the Principal as well. Communication strategy (text stream, google drive, email - do one that is off DPS email so people feel safe sharing) SLT is elected - checking in with staff is vital. BUILDING A STRONG SLT
