  3. What is advocacy? Definition: the act or process of supporting a cause or issue Purpose: to build support for a cause or issue, influence others to support it, or try to pressure or change policies that affect it

  6. Advocacy: Individual Level Example: Accompanying a survivor to a clinic to ensure that she sees a trained, female nurse in a private room.

  7. Advocacy: Community Level Example: Convincing the WASH programme lead to consider installing sex-separate latrines.

  8. Advocacy: National Level Example: Lobbying for a change in mandatory reporting laws.

  9. Advocacy: Global Level Example: Calling for greater resources to be committed to a particular emergency through the GBV AoR.
