  1. National 2 Science in the Environment: Managing an Environmental Area YOUR NAME HERE

  2. As part of our National 2 Science Course we have to manage an environmental area. This involves i) Describing ways in which a local environmental area could be developed or used for living things. ii) Identifying ideas to prepare and maintain a local environmental area iii) Carrying out the ideas iv) Commenting on the success of the ideas or identifying an idea for further action

  3. The area we will use for this will be We decided this was a good area to use because

  4. We decided on the following calendar for the secret garden (example) Time of Year Autumn Activities Hedgehogs making the garden suitable for hedgehogs to hibernate in. Birds making sure there is food etc for the birds in the winter months. Insects planting flowers and bushes to attract insects like bees etc. Insects building a bug hotel for insects to live in. Winter Spring Spring/Summer

  5. Outcome (i) Describing ways which a local environmental area could be developed for living things. In the Autumn term at school we decided to make the Secret Garden suitable for hibernating hedgehogs. This was a good time of year to do this since hedgehogs hibernate from Autumn until Spring and they need a suitable place to do it.
