  1. The Day of the Lord - God Shows no Partiality Thessalonians: Living In Between the Ages 1 Thess. 5:2-3; 9; 2 Thess. 1:6-10

  2. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, There is peace and security, then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 3 ESV

  3. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:9 ESV

  4. Who will the Day of the Lord be experienced by?

  5. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 15 ESV

  6. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 17 ESV

  7. Christians

  8. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8 ESV

  9. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. James 5:8 9 ESV

  10. Angels

  11. Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! 1 Corinthians 6:3 ESV

  12. And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day Jude 6 ESV

  13. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 2 Peter 2:4 ESV

  14. The World

  15. Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 1 Corinthians 6:2 ESV

  16. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13 ESV

  17. But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will render to each one according to his works: Romans 2:5 6 ESV

  18. to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. Romans 2:7 8 ESV

  19. There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. Romans 2:9 10 ESV

  20. For God shows no partiality. Romans 2:11 ESV

  21. The wicked, the unrighteous, the ungodly, and enemies and persecutors of Christians

  22. since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 2 Thessalonians 1:6 7 ESV

  23. in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 2 Thessalonians 1:8 9 ESV

  24. when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:10 ESV

  25. For Gods wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, Romans 1:18 HCSB

  26. since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. Romans 1:19 HCSB

  27. For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 HCSB

  28. When Will the Day of the Lord Arrive?

  29. After the Rebellion, or Apostasy, and the Man of Lawlessness, or Sin, is revealed. -2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

  30. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 4 ESV

  31. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:37 ESV

  32. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, Matthew 24:38 ESV

  33. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5 ESV

  34. Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 1 Timothy 4:1 ESV

  35. through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. 1 Timothy 4:2 HCSB

  36. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:39 ESV

  37. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. Matthew 24:9 10 ESV

  38. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24:11 12 ESV

  39. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:13 14 ESV

  40. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 2 Thessalonians 2:3 ESV

  41. How will one recognize the Man of Lawlessness?

  42. who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4 ESV

  43. If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up. Daniel 3:17 18 HCSB

  44. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28 ESV

  45. He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time. Daniel 7:25 ESV

  46. A mouth was given to him to speak boasts and blasphemies. He was also given authority to act for 42 months. He began to speak blasphemies against God: to blaspheme His name and His dwelling those who dwell in heaven. Revelation 13:5 6 HCSB

  47. and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 1 John 4:3 ESV

  48. What will be the basis of judgment on the Day of the Lord?

  49. When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. Matthew 25:31 32 HCSB

  50. He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left. Matthew 25:33 HCSB
