  3. Stimulus / Inspiration Lindyfest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlTVJ9fOmro Key Characteristics: can you see them in the video clip? Lindyhop was developed in Harlem, New York in the 1920 s to swing/jazz music. Lifts + Jumps

  4. Step 1- Kick Step Kick your right foot forward whilst hopping on your left leg, swap over onto your right leg, kicking your left foot forward. In addition to the footwork, the alternate hand should push forward (left foot kick /right arm push forward with the left arm pushing to the side or behind)

  5. Step 2 Around the world Using the same leg technique as step 1, you will turn around on the spot with your kicks with your arms pushing up in the air instead of in front.

  6. Step 3 Smack the baby Moving to the right, you put your right arm up to the right wagging your index finger as your left hand smacks your hip. Your right foot steps to the right side and your left foot comes together as your smack your hip.

  7. Step 4 Frog Place your feet in a wide stance (slightly wider than shoulder width position) Arms out to the side with your hands flexed to face the sides Knees should be bent slightly, head up with your chest slightly forward! Stay in this position for 1 count, jump to face the back in this same position for 1 count then finally jump to face the starting direction for 1 more count (=1 rotation)

In your pairs, decide on a starting position / starting movement In time with the music, decide on 3 poses to perform along side sweet, sugar, candyman before starting your choreography You will have time to create your routines over 2 lessons working alongside the checklist! Team up with another pair to perform and observe in order to give feedback! (WWW / EBI)

  10. Checklist 4 set steps? Have you developed the set steps or created your own original choreography? Partner work? Solo work? Canon? Unison? Jumps / Lifts / Levels? Starting and ending position? Do you both know your timing?
