Actions taken www.cetmo.org Sector Economic measures to reduce the impact of the crisis on the sector. Road Temporary removal of restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles Definition of green lanes at border crossings. Rail Definition of green lanes at border crossings. Connection between the different nodes of the chain: production centers, storage centers and ports. Maritime Adaptation to the redefinition of the shipping company strategies. Change of use of port facilities. Coordination between port authorities.
Lessons learned www.cetmo.org All crises offer opportunities. Planning must be reconsidered and include disruptive scenarios. Introduce climate change effects as new sources of disruption. Reinforce the current integration and co-development among Mediterranean countries and also between EU and Africa. Coordinated action for efficient operation of the multimodal transport system. Include monitoring tools facing new challenges of resiliency and deep disruptions of the transport system. Take advantage of disruption situations by boosting more sustainable and committed future scenarios.
Reflections on Post-COVID Scenarios (RPCS) initiative www.cetmo.org Building of a collective intelligence on the post-COVID-19 scenario (mid- and long-term) for the transport and logistics sector in the Mediterranean. Short articles written by experts and reference organizations to generate and discuss knowledge to allowing us to be active players in building the future of the region. The sum, collaboration and teamwork as one of the strengths of the future to come. Comprehensive vision of the transport system to guide and facilitate the efforts of the sector to adapt to future scenarios and to identify future cooperation opportunities that contribute to its regional integration. Synergies between the ITC and its WP as generators and drivers of knowledge and the initiative as an element of collaboration in defining future scenarios.
