God wants Christian to pay tithes following the example of Abraham. God affirmed this practice by making it as part of the law and the children of Isreal were required to pay tithe. Jesus also put his stamp of authority on the practice in the new testament. Christ is the final authority on all matters of Christian faith , and the disobedience of this injunction could cause God s wrath.

Tithes is the 10% of gross earnings of employees or the profit of business people. Offering is whatever is giving above the tithe. Biblical giving is based on the management of the spiritual, physical, material resources God has given us to be used for the expansion/ benefit of his kingdom. God has the divine ownership of our lives. Thus, we are to surrender our resources with joy fo God s use.
