Welcome back to the Kinesiology and Sport Science (KSS) informational meeting led by Dr. Mark Kattenbraker, the KSS Chair, and Dr. Scott Ronspies, the KSS Graduate Coordinator. The meeting covers academic courses, course sequence specifics, thesis options, oral & written rubrics, end of program requirements, and important dates to remember for the upcoming academic year.

  3. Academic Courses Three options: Exercise Science Clinical Exercise Science Non-Clinical (Fitness) Sport Administration Course Sequence is set up for 1-year program 2+ year grad students have some flexibility In general, fall and spring offerings are requirements; summer are electives

  4. Course Sequence Specifics Exercise Science students may take Sport Admin courses as electives if approved and only if necessary Prerequisite deficiencies may increase one s credit load and/or may be used as elective credits if taken post-bachelor s degree and if course number is above 4750 Sport Administration internships must have paperwork turned in before the semester

  5. Thesis Option (Elective) Thesis credits (KSS 5950 6 credits) are generally scheduled in the spring term Anyone may apply to do a thesis; however, it is not guaranteed to all outside factors apply Thesis Handbook Students interested in obtaining a PhD should strongly consider doing a thesis

  6. Oral & Written Rubrics Must have 2 oral & 2 written graduate rubrics completed before graduation!!!

  7. End of Program Every student must fill out an Exit Interview online at the end of the program before they can officially graduate Exit Interview

  8. Dates to Remember Tailgate: Sept 1, 2016 Tailgate Graduation: Nov 1, 2016 Deadline to graduate FA16 March 22, 2017 Deadline to graduate SP17 Thesis: Thesis proposals Nov 7, 2016 Research Fair: Dec 7, 2016 KSS graduate Research Fair Fall Commencement: Dec 17, 2016
