  27. Why do we judge? Outreach! 27

  28. I am very grateful for the award. Your support has contributed to furthering my interest in pursuing science and technology to the highest levels. I am currently a freshman at Rice University in Houston, Texas pursuing a degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a focus in bioengineering. I also received admission into Princeton University, Johns Hopkins University, and the California Institute of Technology. If possible, I would like to remain in touch with the American Statistical Association and any other scientific bodies, especially if there are research and networking opportunities available for college students. 28

  29. Thank you for the recognition and the book! I received "Comparing Groups [Randomization and Bootstrap Methods Using R]" in the mail today, and I'm really ecstatic to go through it. I'll be starting at Yale University this fall as a prospective Psychology major; so this book will be immensely helpful! I cannot thank the judges enough. 29

  30. Thank you so much for providing such a variety of books! Definitely going to add some of them to my list of books to read!Again, I really appreciate that the ASA would like to give me such an opportunity and reward for what I did in my project. Your special award and the offer of a book truly really encourages me to study the world of statistics further and find more sophisticated applications of it. Numerous people throughout the making of my project has mentioned to me how important statistics is to scientific studies--and I'm so glad that I was able to use statistics to a certain degree in my project as recognized by the ASA. My sincere and many thanks." 30

  31. Email from 2021 student who scored in top 100 Won 3rd place in 2022 Good morning, I'm thrilled to share that I'm going to present a new project at ISEF 2022! After the amazing experience I had last year, I am looking forward to going through the entire process again. The book on biostatistics you sent me almost a year ago helped me a ton while designing and executing my project; it also made me realize how important it is to apply the appropriate statistical techniques in order to be confident in the research process. Now that I have a much better understanding of statistics, it almost feels like a superpower that can streamline otherwise-messy biological data. This experience with stats is going to be extremely useful for me throughout my research career I want to thank you, and the ASA more broadly, for helping me develop my skills. Sincerely Rushank 31
