Introduction to IFLA-LRM Training Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC)
This training program, conducted by the LRM Task Group of the Standing Committee on Training Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) in March 2020, aims to provide an overview of the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM) and its primary concepts. The training is structured with 12 modules covering different topics, each building on the knowledge of previous modules. No user notes or outside resources are required, and all material is based on the IFLA LRM conceptual model. The task group members are available for any comments or questions.

Goals of the Training To understand the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM) To understand the role of user tasks in IFLA LRM To provide an introduction to the primary concepts & modeling in IFLA LRM: Work/Expression/Manifestation/Item (WEMI) Relationships Nomen Bibliographic Identities Representative expression attribute Aggregates Serials 2
Setup of the Training 12 modules, each on a different topic Each module builds on the knowledge of previous modules, so it is best to go through them in order Slides were prepared in and best viewed in PowerPoint. Modules are best viewed in presentation mode since some modules have light-weight animation There are no user notes or outside resources necessary (though references to IFLA LRM occur in modules and we provide a very basic bibliography) 3
