Choose a country and explore their traditions and culture around food and dining. Recreate a dining experience relating to your chosen country for your leaders, parents or another section. For this part of your badge, it could be a good idea for those who are Young Leaders to to recreate a dining experience for the younger section on Zoom. You could do this by making a meal from a different country and explain to the younger section why you made it and how people from that country eat that meal. You could also buy yourself a takeaway and explain a but about that food. Make sure to choose a country that isn't the one you live in currently! Here is the Brazilian Recipe that you could try with your Explorers some evening. https://www.scouts.org.uk/activities/brazilian-brigadeiros/
Take part in an international scouting experience such as: 1. an international jamboree 2. setting up an international link 3. jamboree on the air (jota)- 4. jamboree on the internet (JOTI) event. This task may be a bit harder but it could be a good idea for reach out to the others group across the world and get an idea of what sort of things they do in their Scout Group. When they come around again, taking part in JOTA or JOTI is very enjoyable and will give the Explorers new skills.
Organise an activity for your unit or a younger section that explores another country's national celebration, festival or event (eg. Mela, Republic Day India, Chinese New Year) This is one that could link into the first part of this Badge when working with a younger section. Organise an event whether that is Chinese New Year or even St Patrick's Day. Find out why people celebrate it and organize an activity around it. You could make everybody wear green when you do your St Patrick's Day night!
Explore aspects of another country's culture such as their greetings, religion and approach to gender. You could play a cultural simulation game or discuss the similarities and differences with culture in the UK. This part could be used in the different parts from above. Don t try to over complicate things. There are more options you can choose from on this link here but some may be a bit harder to do over Zoom. https://www.scouts.org.uk/explorers/activity-badges/international/
