The Challenge:
Competitors will be allocated a 15 minute slot during the
day and will complete as many laps of Mendip Courts as
they can during that time
Competitors may choose to walk or run
Competitors are asked to participate wearing the colours of
their house whilst Sixth Form students should participate in
rainbow colours
 
What do we know about homophobic, biphobic
and transphobic bullying in schools?
 
55% of lesbian, gay and bisexual students
have experienced homophobic bullying
 
99% of lesbian, gay and bisexual
young people hear the phrases
‘that’s so gay’ or ‘you’re so gay’
 in school
 
83% of trans young people say they
have experienced name-calling and
35% have experienced physical attacks
 
27% of trans young people have
attempted suicide
 
Survey of 8.600 young people:

Our aims:
To prevent any discrimination against
individuals who are members of the
LGBTQ Community
To raise awareness and understanding
amongst staff and students of LGBTQ
issues
 
What can you do?
 
Join the LGBTQ Awareness Team if you
wish to take a leading role
Listen to friends who are dealing with
issues around their sexuality and try to
support them
 
Ensure you are fully accepting of
all members of the Wellsway
Community whatever their
sexuality
Volunteer to represent your tutor
group in the Run/Walk-a-thon
Come along and support the
Run/Walk-a-thon
 
Winner of the Inter-

4 students to represent them
in the Walk/Run-a-thon
to support the

Riddoch with the names of your
tutor group’s representatives
to compete in the
Inter-House Walk/Run-a-thon

On Tuesday, November 15th, Mendip Courts is hosting an Inter-House Walk/Run-a-thon competition to show support for the LGBTQ community. Competitors will complete laps around the court, wearing house colors or rainbow attire. The event aims to raise awareness and prevent discrimination against LGBTQ individuals. Join the LGBTQ Awareness Team, support friends, represent your group, and be a part of this inclusive initiative.
