Ireland made history by legalizing same-sex marriage through a popular vote in 2015, leading a wave of about 20 countries that have since followed suit. The movement for LGBTQ+ equality has gained momentum worldwide, with organizations such as the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network and activists like Kevin Jennings working to promote acceptance and rights for the community. Ireland becomes first nation to legalize same-sex marriage "We're the first country in the world to enshrine marriage equality in our constitution and do so by popular mandate. That makes us a beacon, a light to the rest of the world, of liberty and equality. So it's a very proud day to be Irish," said Leo Varadkar, a Cabinet minister Ireland became the first country in the world to legalize same- sex marriage through a popular vote on Saturday (May 23,2015) 62.1 percent of Irish voters saying "yes" to changing the nation's constitution to allow gay marriage
Actually about 20 countries have legalized same-sex marriages. 2001 The Netherlands 2003 Belgium 2005 Canada and Spain 2006 South Africa 2009 Norway and Sweden 2010 Argentina. All the men of the city were seeking to participate in this very grave sin - They were seeking to know them carnally meaning that they intended to have sexual relations with them -
HOMOSEXUALITY Note The word carnally is not in the original Hebrew; however, there can be no doubt as to the crowd s intentions that we may know them carnally." (NKJV) that we may have relations with them. (NASV) that we may know them. (KJV) that we may know (be intimate with) them. (AMP) - - - -

It is an abomination. - 22You shall not lie with a male as with The inhabitants were being removed from the land because of this type of sin (Lev. 18:24-25) - God warned Israel that they too could be vomited out of the land if they engaged in this type of conduct (Lev. 18: 26-30) -
HOMOSEXUALITY Under the Law of Moses Homosexuality was an abomination Leviticus 20:13 Homosexual conduct was punishable by death 13If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. -
HOMOSEXUALITY Note We do not live under the Law of Moses We have seen that back in those days and even before homosexuality was described by God as a very grave sin, which was punishable by death But, how is it dealt with in the New Testament?
HOMOSEXUALITY Today Under the New Testament 9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,*nor sodomites, 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Homosexuality is unrighteousness 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Paul says here: Do Not Be Deceived! - The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God -
HOMOSEXUALITY Homosexuals: malakos(mal-ak-os') effeminate, of a catamite, a male who submits his body to unnatural lewdness" (THAYER) Also translated effeminate (NASV & KJV) Sodomites: arsenokoites (ar-sen-ok-oy'-tace) "one who lies with a male as with a female, a sodomite" (THAYER) Also translated homosexuals (NASV) & abusers of themselves with mankind (KJV) This refers to any sort of homosexual conduct
HOMOSEXUALITY Today Under the New Testament it lawfully, 9knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine 8But we know that the law is good if one uses Homosexuality is unrighteousness 1 Timothy 1:8-10 Paul tells Timothy that the law is not for the righteous, but for the lawless, the insubordinate, the ungodly, the sinners, the unholy, the profane - Including murders, fornicators, kidnappers, liars, and Homosexuals - He says these things are contrary to sound doctrine -
HOMOSEXUALITY Today Under the New Testament Homosexuality is unrighteousness Romans 1:24-32 Paul describes Homosexuality as that which is shameful and the result of a debased (depraved NASV) mind - Along with things such as sexual immorality, murder, and haters of God Paul says that those who practice such things are deserving of death (vs. 32) -
Conclusion We must not allow ourselves to be deceived by those who are pushing a homosexual agenda Many people today will say that Homosexuality is simply an alternative lifestyle The Bible only describes it as sin In the days of the Patriarchs Under the Law of Moses Today, under the New Testament
Conclusion We must also remember; however, that homosexuals are no different than an idolater, an adulterer, a drunkard, or a thief (1 Cor. 6:9-11) Notice vs. 11 11And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were We must not be deceived, but we must accept homosexuality for what it is: A sin, which can be overcome through the cleansing blood of Christ justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
