Human-Influenced Migration and Divergence of Breadfruit
The human-influenced migration of Breadfruit through Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia, with origins attributed to two wild breadfruit species. The dispersal pattern confirmed by breadfruit DNA analysis reveals a low A. mariannensis content in Melanesia and Polynesia, and a high A. mariannensis x A. camansi content in Micronesia. The movement of humans from Melanesia to Polynesia and the influence on breadfruit distribution are key aspects explored in this study.

Breadfruit Dispersal Human migration from Melanesia to Polynesia confirmed by breadfruit DNA Low A. mariannensis content in Melanesia and Polynesia, high A. mariannensis x A. camansi content in Micronesia Many humans moved from Melanesia to Polynesia, and few moved from Micronesia to Polynesia (though some did!)
