HR Office EEO Compliance HR accomplishes this by: Working to maintain an environment free from discrimination and harassment and ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. Addressing reports of harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct, involving faculty and/or staff. Promoting an inclusive work and educational environment where faculty and staff are treated fairly, recognized for their individuality, and promoted for their performance. Developing policies and procedures to enhance the workplace experience. Communicating the University's commitment through training, education, and program development. FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

Policy Coverage Everyone: All Employees Vendors / Contractors Volunteers Students Visitors 24/7 All programs and activities: Off Campus On Campus - Business / academic trips - Study abroad - Office/department parties - Business dinners/lunches - Non-university activities that have consequences that carry over to the workplace or academic environment.   11. Vulnerable Persons Act Florida Law requires everyone in the state to personally report child abuse, abandonment, and neglect to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Reporting Obligation: A report must be submitted immediately upon learning of an abusive situation or be subject to imprisonment and/or fine. Not reporting can result in a third-degree felony. Reporting Resources: FSUPD, Human Resources, DCF Portal. DCF Will handle any investigation or referral. Non-Retaliation Retaliation is prohibited against individuals who: Request a Help someone report Participate in investigations Make a complaint (internal/external/lawsuit) Reasonable Accommodation Retaliation is defined broadly: Any negative employment/academic action Creating a hostile work environment Any action that could discourage a complaint FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

  13. Reporting Obligations Everyone is encouraged to report all incidents. Faculty (you are not confidential) Mandatory reporting within two days if: Affected or Responding Individual is a student; Affected or Responding Individual is someone you supervise; You witness an act of sexual violence; or Incident involves a minor. Make the report; do not investigate! Err on the side of caution. Report even if unsure or you think someone else has reported. Call HR to consult if needed. FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY
