زيارة وارث
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ آدَمَ صَفْوَةِ اللهِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha Ādama ṣafwat illāh,
Peace be upon you, O heir of
Adam, Allāh’s elect!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ نُوحٍ نَبِيِّ اللهِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha Nūḥin nabiyy illāh,
Peace be upon you, O heir of
Noah, Allāh’s prophet!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ إبْراهيمَ خَليلِ اللهِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha Ibrāhīma khalīl illāh,
Peace be upon you, O heir of
Abraham, Allāh’s intimate!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ مُوسى كَليمِ اللهِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha Mūsā kalīm illāh,
Peace be upon you, O heir of
Moses, to whom Allāh spoke
directly!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ عيسى رُوحِ اللهِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha ʿĪsā rūḥ illāh,
Peace be upon you, O heir of
Jesus, Allāh’s spirit!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبيبِ اللهِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha Muḥammadin ḥabīb
illāh,
Peace be upon you, O heir of
Muḥammad, Allāh’s beloved!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ أميرِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha Amīr al-Muʾminīna
ʿalayh is-salām,
Peace be upon you, O heir of the
Commander of the Faithful, upon
whom be peace!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا بْنَ مُحَمَّد الْمُصْطَفى،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yabna Muḥammadin il-Muṣṭafā,
Peace be upon you, O son of
Muḥammad, Allāh’s chosen
prophet!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا بْنَ عَليٍّ الْمُرْتَضى،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yabna ʿAliyyin il-Murtaḍā,
Peace be upon you, O son of ʿAlī,
the people’s chosen leader!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا بْنَ فاطِمَةَ الزَّهْراءِ،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yabna Fāṭimat az-Zahrāʾ,
Peace be upon you, O son of
Fāṭima, the radiant one!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا بْنَ خَديجَةَ الْكُبْرى،
Assalāmu ʿalayka yabna Khadījat al-Kubrā,
Peace be upon you, O son of
Khadīja, the elder!
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا ثارَ اللهِ وَابْنَ ثارِهِ
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā thār Allāhi wabna thārihī
Peace be upon you, O Allāh’s
avenger and the son of His
avenger,
وَالْوِتْرَ الْمَوْتُورَ،
wal-witr al-mawtūr,
and the one who has yet to be
avenged, and who
d
id not get to
avenge his murdered relatives!
أَشْهَدُ أنَّكَ قَدْ أَقَمْتَ الصَّلاةَ،
Ash-hadu annaka qad aqamt aṣ-ṣalāt,
I testify that you established prayers,
وَآتَيْتَ الزَّكاةَ، وَأَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ،
Wa ātayt az-zakāt, Wa amarta bi-l-maʿrūf,
gave
zakāt
, Enjoined the good,
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ،
Wa nahayta ʿan il-munkar,
forbade evil,
وَأَطَعْتَ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ حَتَّى أَتاكَ الْيَقينُ،
Wa aṭaʿt Allāha wa Rasūlahu ḥattā atāk al-yaqīn,
and obeyed Allāh and His
Messenger until the certainty of
death overtook you,
فَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكَ،
Fa-laʿan Allāhu ummatan qatalatka,
So may Allāh curse the nation
who killed you,
وَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً ظَلَمَتْكَ،
Wa laʿan Allāhu ummatan ẓalamatka,
And may Allāh curse the nation
who oppressed you,
وَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ،
Wa laʿan Allāhu ummatan samiʿat bi-dhālika fa-
raḍiyat bih,
And may Allāh curse the nation
that heard about this and were
pleased with it.
يا مَوْلايَ يا أَبا عَبْدِ اللهِ
Yā mawlāya yā Abā ʿAbdillāhi,
O my master! O Abā ʿAbdallāh!
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُوراً فِي الأَصْلابِ الشَّامِخَةِ،
ash-hadu annaka kunta nūran fi-l-aṣlāb ish-shāmikha,
I testify that you were a light that
passed through noble loins,
وَالأَرْحامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ،
Wa-l-arḥām al-muṭahhara,
and chaste wombs,
لَمْ تُنَجِّسْكَ الْجاهِلِيَّةُ بِأَنْجاسِها،
Lam tunajjiska-l-jāhiliyyatu bi-anjāsihā,
uncontaminated by the pollutions of
pre-Islamic Ignorance,
وَلَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ مِنْ مُدْلَهِمَّاتِ ثِيابِها،
Wa lam tulbiska min mudlahimmāti thiyābihā,
and never swaddled in its dark
clothes,
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ مِنْ دَعائِمِ الدِّينِ،
Wa ashhadu annaka min daʿāʾim id-dīn,
And I testify that you are a pillar
of religion
وَأَرْكانِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ،
Wa arkān il-muʾminīn,
and a support of the faithful,
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ الإمَامُ الْبَرُّ، التَّقِيُّ،
Wa ash-hadu annak al-imām ul-barru, at-taqiyyu,
And I testify that you are the good,
righteous, pure,

ar-raḍiyyu, az-zakiyyu, al-hādī, al-mahdī,
and rightly guided Imām who
guides others and is pleased with
Allāh’s will,
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوى،
Wa ashhadu ann al-aʾimmata min wuldika kalimat
ut-taqwā,
And I testify that the Imāms
descended from you are the word
of righteousness,
وَ
أَ

Wa aʿlām ul-hudā,
the banners of guidance,
وَ
ا
لْ
عُ
ر
وَ
ةُ
ا
لْ
وُ
ثْ
ق
ى
،
Wa-l-ʿurwat ul-wuthqā,
the firmest handhold,
وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيا،
Wa-l-ḥujjatu ʿalā ahl id-dunyā,
and Allāh’s authority over the
people of this world,
وَأُشْهِدُ اللهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ وَأَنْبِياءَهُ وَرُسُلَهُ
Wa ush-hid Ullāha wa malāʾikatahu wa anbiyāʾahu
wa rusulahu
And I call on Allāh, His angels, His
prophets, and His messengers to
bear witness
أَنِّي بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ وَبِإيَابِكُمْ،
annī bi-kum muʾminun wa bi-iyābikum,
that I believe in you and in your
return,
مُوقِنٌ بِشَرايـِعِ دِيْني وَخَواتيمِ عَمَلي،
Mūqinun bi-sharāyiʿI dīnī wa khawātīmi ʿamalī,
Being certain of the ordinances of
my faith and the outcomes of my
deeds,
وَقَلْبي لِقَلْبِكُمْ سِلْمٌ، وَأَمْري لِأَمْرِكُمْ مُتَّبِـعٌ،
Wa qalbī li-qalbikum silmun, Wa amrī li-amrikum
muttabiʿun,
And my heart is at peace with
yours, And my affair follows
yours,
صَلَواتُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ،
Ṣalawāt ullāhi ʿalaykum,
May Allāh’s blessings be upon
you,
وَ
عَ

أَ

كُمْ
،
Wa ʿalā arwāḥikum,
And upon your spirits,
وَ
عَ
لى
أَ
جْ
س
ا
دِ
كُمْ
،
Wa ʿalā ajsādikum,
your bodies,
وَ
عَ
لى
أَ
جْ
س
ا
مِ
كُمْ
،
Wa ʿalā ajsāmikum,
and your forms,
وَ
عَ
لى
ش
ا
هِ
دِ
كُمْ
،
Wa ʿalā shāhidikum,
upon those of you who are
present
وَ
عَ
لى
غ
ا
ئِ
بِ
كُمْ
،
Wa ʿalā ghāʾibikum,
and those who are absent,
وَ
عَ
لى
ظَ
ا
هِ
رِ
كُمْ
،
وَ
عَ
لى
با
طِ
نِ
كُمْ
.
Wa ʿalā ẓāhirikum, Wa ʿalā bāṭinikum.
and upon your outward aspects
and your inner ones!
بِأبي أنْتَ وَأُمِّي يا أَبا عَبْدِ اللهِ،
Bi-abī anta wa ummī yabna Rasūl illāh, Bi-abī anta
wa ummī yā Abā ʿAbdillāh,
May my father and my mother be
your sacrifice, O son of Allāh’s
Messenger!
لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ،
Laqad ʿaẓumat ir-raziyya,
Terrible was the tragedy
وَجَلَّتِ الْمُصيبَةُ بِكَ عَلَيْنا،
Wa jallat il-muṣībatu bika ʿalaynā,
and grievous was your tribulation
for us,
وَعَلى جَميعِ أَهْلِ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرْضِ،
Wa ʿalā jamīʿi ahl is-samāwāti wa-l-arḍ,
and for all the inhabitants of the
heavens and the earth,
فَلَعَنَ اللهُ أُمَّةً أَسْرَجَتْ
Fa-laʿan Allāhu ummatan asrajat
So may Allāh curse the nation that
saddled
وَأَلْجَمَتْ وَتَهَيَّأَتْ لِقِتالِكَ،
wa aljamat wa tahayyaʾat li-qitālik,
and bridled their horses and took
up arms to fight you,
يا مَوْلايَ يا أَبا عَبْدِ اللهِ،
Yā mawlāya yā Abā ʿAbdillāh,
O my master, O Abā ʿAbdallāh!
قَصَدْتُ حَرَمَكَ، وَأتَيْتُ إلى مَشْهَدِكَ،
Qaṣadtu ḥaramak, Wa ataytu ilā mash-hadik,
I have journeyed to your sanctuary
and approached your place of
martyrdom,
أَسْألُ اللهَ بِالشَّأْنِ الَّذيْ لَكَ عِنْدَهُ،
Asʾal Ullāha bish-shaʾn illadhī laka ʿindah,
I ask Allāh, on the account of the
status you have with Him,
وَبِالْمَحَلِّ الَّذيْ لَكَ لَدَيْهِ أَنْ يُصَلِيَّ
Wa bil-maḥall illadhī laka ladayhī an yuṣallī
And the position that you occupy
with Him, To send His blessings
عَلى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد،
ʿalā Muḥammad wa āli Muḥammad,
on Muḥammad and the Family of
Muḥammad,
وَأَنْ يَجْعَلَني مَعَكُمْ فِي الدُّنْيا وَالآخِرَةِ.
Wa an yajʿalanī maʿakum fid-dunyā wa-l-ākhira.
And to keep me with you in this
world and the next!

Waashhaduannal-a immatamin wuldikakalimatut- taqw , And I testify that the Im ms descended from you are the word of righteousness,
Wa-l- ujjatu al ahl id-duny , and All h sauthority over the people of this world,
Waush-hid Ull ha wamal ikatahu waanbiy ahu warusulahu And I call on All h, H is angels, H is prophets, and H is messengers to bear witness
ann bi-kummu minun wabi-iy bikum, that I believe in you and in your return,

Waqalb li-qalbikumsilmun, Waamr li-amrikum muttabi un, And my heart is at peace with yours, And my affair follows yours,
