Elgin Youth Development Group (EYDG) was founded in 1998 by St. Giles & St. Columba's Church to provide a safe space for young people in Elgin, offering various activities and projects to support their growth and potential. Over the years, EYDG has expanded its services, including the opening of Elgin Youth Café in 2001 and acquiring Inkwell through Community Asset Transfer in 2014. The organization's mission focuses on promoting equality, respect, diversity, independence, and responsibility while benefiting the entire community. Services include after-school clubs, evening sessions, holiday programs, theme nights, and individual support. EYDG also engages in social enterprise activities to fund youth programs through meeting room rentals and catering services. The operational team consists of young individuals trained in food hygiene, first aid, and cooking skills, ensuring the organization is run by and for young people. Looking ahead, EYDG remains committed to providing a positive environment for youth development in Elgin.
