History and Achievements of Lesetja Primary School
Lesetja Primary School, founded by the Methodist Church in the 1920s-1930s in South Africa, transitioned from church to government management during the Bantu Education era. The school has a rich history of notable principals, steady growth, and outstanding student achievements across various fields. Today, under the leadership of Mrs. M.G. Jita, the school continues its vision of providing quality education for all learners.

Former Principal Mngomezulu Kgothalang Primary School was called Lesetja Primary This school was founded by Methodist Church in the year 1920 -1930 in South Africa. The methodist learners were all admitted in this school. The following Language were taught Sesotho Sepedi IsiZulu
The Name: Lesetja Primary School THE GOVERNMENT OF THOSE DAYS REMOVED SCHOOLS FROM BEING MANAGED BY CHURCHES TO BE MANAGED BY THE GOVERNMENT. THEY INTRODUCED BANTU EDUCATION IN THE EARLY 1950 1957. LESETJA PRIMARY SCHOOL WAS NAMED AFTER THE FORMER PRINCIPAL OF THE SCHOOL MR LESETJA CHUENE.
Mr H.L Kgobe Mr H.L Kgobe became the Principal of Lesetja Primary School in 1959. The School then had five(5) classrooms to cater for all learners from Grade one (1) to Grade seven (7). In the year 1965 1967 more classes were added to accommodate Grade eight (8)
Enrolment in 1978 - 1983 The enrolment in 1978 to 1983 increased. New classrooms were added The classrooms were then sixteen (16).
Progress in the School 1. School Produced good results 2. Mrs Mofokeng was good in needlework 3. Mrs Songo represented the school choir in Giyane 4. Ms Mokoena s netball was the best. 5. Mr Nteo produced good soccer players and best results for the school 6. Educators worked as team to produce good results in Athletics.
Our Pride as Kgothalang Primary We are proud as a school that we produced Doctors, Nurses, Educators, Police , Lawyers, Social Workers, Pastors and many good community members.
