What is Guided Self-Help?

In guided self-help, you work together with an NHS trained
professional to learn tools and skills that will help you to better
manage your current difficulties.

We teach techniques based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
which has been proven to be effective in helping people overcome
anxiety, low mood, stress, and many other difficulties.

Unlike counselling or therapy, guided self-help focuses on the here and
now. We look at your current issues and what might keep them going,
but we do not look at your past.

What does it involve?

We offer short term sessions and take a problem-solving approach.

Your guided self-help professional will help you to:
Identify what your current problems are
Set goals and track your progress
Work through self-help material specific to you
 Practice self-help strategies
