)
Some of God’s Promises

The Holy Spirit
Acts 2:38,
promised to those who
obey the gospel
The exact nature of this “gift” is
debated, but we know He has done
His part to make salvation possible.
- We may not fully understand His
working, but we know He can and
does –
Romans 8:1, 9-11,
  cf. vs. 26

He has promised He
will never leave nor forsake us.
Cf. John 10:27-28, Matthew
28:20
In this world, we are often
abandoned by others. Jesus will
never abandon us.
Some of God’s Promises

Life is in the Son - Jesus
2 Timothy 1:1,
this is a reference to
our salvation through Him.
He died so that we might be saved.
Ephesians 2:1,
we were dead, He
made us alive
James 1:12,
a promised crown of life
1 John 2:25,
eternal life

an eternal inheritance
Some of God’s Promises

Eternal rest
Hebrews 4:1,
a promised rest that
remains
One of the descriptions of heaven. A
promise to the righteous.
Revelation 14:13, etc.
Some of God’s Promises

Godliness that leads to life
1 Timothy 4:8,
godly living
(godliness is about proper reverence
toward God in our actions) promises
life now (better quality of life) and
that which is to come (heaven)
Some of God’s Promises

You can handle your temptations
1 Corinthians 10:13,
God has
promised there IS a way of escape
(while not easy, it is there)
2 Peter 3:9,
He knows how to
deliver us
James 1:12,
when we endure
temptation
Some of God’s Promises

God will take care of you
Matthew 6:33,
when we seek His
kingdom first, He knows what we
need. Therefore, we need not worry
Some of God’s Promises

He will come again
John 14:1-3, Acts 1:11,
we have
the promise He would return
Consider
2 Peter 3:4, 9 & 13
scoffers mock because He has not
returned…
Some of God’s Promises

We will face Him in righteous
judgment
John 5:28-29,
2 Corinthians 5:10,
ALL will
appear before Him
Romans 2:5-10,
it will be a
righteous judgment, for both the
righteous and wicked.
This promise can be good or bad,
depending on the decisions you make
Some of God’s Promises

Israel’s history shows the conditional
nature of God’s promises
Deuteronomy 4:25-26, 8:19-20,
28:1, 15, 36, etc.
They were
expected to remain faithful or face His
wrath.
This helps us understand that some of
God’s promises to us are conditional.
He expects us to remain faithful to Him!
Hebrews 10:36-39
2 Peter 2:20-22
Conditional Promises of God

We can count on God’s
promises!
Will you keep your
promises to Him?

Let us pray!
