Meet my customers

In this badge we’ll:
1.
Find out where our customers are
2.
Practice talking to some customers
3.
Practice making change
4.
Role-play good customer relations
5.
Thank your customers!

Once we’ve earned this badge, we’ll feel comfortable finding customers and selling cookies to them.

Before we begin

Step 1: Finding where our customers
are

Who might want to buy Girl Scout cookies?
Neighbors? Teachers? Let’s make a list brainstorming who all might want to buy
cookies.

Step 2: Practice talking to customers

Within your troop, take turns sharing information about Girl Scout cookies.

You might share how much they cost, they kinds of flavors there are, or what your
troop hopes to do with the money raised.

Step 3: Practicing handling money and making
change – Virtually!

The next few slides are some sample scenarios of selling
Girl Scout cookies. While we don’t have practice cash to
use in person, we can still practice virtually!

Step 3: Practicing handling money and making
change – Virtually!

Example 1: A gentleman wants to buy 1 box
of Caramel deLites. He pays with a $10 bill.

How much change do we owe him?

Step 3: Practicing handling money and making

Step 4: Practicing Good customer
relations

With your troop, role-play what to do when:

Customers ask for advice on which cookie to buy

A customer tells you she used to sell Girl Scout cookies

A customer buys cookies, then says they want to come back later to buy more

Step 5: Thank your customers!

Everybody who buys Girl Scout cookies is helping you and other girls have a
great time in Girl Scouts!
Say thanks by asking a grown-up to help you send a thank-you email to customers
or decorate your own notecards to give out when cookies are delivered.
