MISSION AND STRATEGIC GOALS OF GENNEX Mission: To boost internationalisation and communication of European and non-European doctoral schools and programmes related to sports, exercise and health sciences/kinesiology and provide PhD related information, news, and links to the sports technology industry. Strategic goals: To support the conceptualisation and implementation of students' individual doctoral research projects and activties related to doctoral programmes; To improve the visibility and networking options of Doctoral Schools/Programms; To share news and information; To bind science to industry, technology, and innovation in sport.

TARGET GROUPS FOR GENNEX Individual: Institutional (hub partners): MSc/MEed/MPhil/MRes students involved in sports, exercise, health or kinesiology related academic programmes who are seeking to undertake doctoral studies, or Doctoral students and Post-Docs in those areas. Universities or research institutes throughout the world that run sports, exercise, health or kinesiology programmes and/or offer doctoral studies in these fields.

  4. RELEVANCE OF GENNEX The presence and the number of foreign students are the most visible indicators (e.g. university rankings) of the internationalisation of any higher education institution. Foreign students not only raise the academic prestige of host institutions, but they also bring in significant revenues both for the host universities and the communities in which they sit.

  5. OBJECTIVES OF GENNEX: 1.TO OFFER ACADEMIC SERVICES AND 2. TO SHARE INFORMATION! 1 2 3 4 Boost international visibility of doctoral schools or programmes by creating an online hub community platform. Stimulate communication between doctoral schools or programms via live academic events and newsletters. Facilitate scheduled thematic webinars for doctoral students moderated by acknowledged lecturers, and professors, with the involvement of the sport tech industry. Create an online guide and database of doctoral themes, schools, programmes, supervisors, external examiners, ongoing or planned projects (Phase1) (Phase2, if applicable) (Phase 1 and 2) (Phase1 and 2)

  6. DETAILED OBJECTIVES OF GENNEX Promote new ideas and innovative research results of PhD students and promote doctoral programmes. Promote Offer advice to create internationalisation strategies to Doctoral schools or programmes. Advise S E R V I C E S Create Support the creation of joint doctoral programmes. Support joint-supervision of doctorates (Cotutelle-de-th se). Jointly Supervise Create opportunities to gain international experience (e.g. participation in conferences, study tours, credit mobility). Participate Publish Support accessibility to international publications for PhD students. Help PhD students to become involved in international networks of professionals in their field of research. Network Recommend high profile external supervisors on different fields. External Supervision Create links between academics and industry (e.g. tech innovation). Link

Develop a business plan to ensure the GENNEX project is financially sustainable Promote sports, exercise and health related technical innovation Widen the GENNEX collaboration with further hub member universities Set up and runGENNEX digital platforms (website, app) Create an award competition forGENNEX hub partners PhD students Promote the options of joint- supervision, external examinosrhip Provide news of professorships or scholarships and jobs NOTE: Phase 2. it should be fee- based hub membership to cover running costs.
