FINDING PEACE IN THE STORM Part 2
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
Dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.7Then you will experience God s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.9Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9 NLT
1. DONT WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you you of little faith?31So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear?
32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
THREE REASONS NOT TO WORRY:
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:27
The Heavenly Father knows what you need, and he s promised to provide.
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Matthew 6:32
Worrying robs you of your peace.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength. Corrie Ten Boom
casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. 1 Peter 5:7 Amp.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, (which means a stone of help) saying, Thus far the Lord has helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12 NIV
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 NLT
Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9 NLT
If you had obeyed my commands, you would have had peace like a river [abundant and overflowing;]. Good things would have flowed to you like the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:18 EXB
