Year 1 Home learning English Wb 11.5.20 Poetry
Hello Year One, Hope you ve all had a good week and been out enjoying the sunshine! Hopefully you will have had a go at writing a simple letter last week. If any of you would like to email them to us then that would be lovely! We really do enjoy seeing all of your super writing. This weeks work is all about Poetry . The poetry we are going to look at is a little bit silly at times and may make you laugh! We are going to look at something called Nonsense poetry which means that they may not make much sense but they may make us use our imagination! Have a look through each slide and by the end of the week you should have a better understanding of what nonsense poetry is! Have a go and try your best! We look forward to reading them Year One
Rhyming words Monday 11th May Lets start our week by looking at rhyming words. Watch the Jack Haartman song then have a go at creating your own lists of rhyming words in your books. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVophT8naUM Top tip: Look carefully at the given words. Can you see any patterns with the letters? Tuesday 12th May Can I write a different ending for a nursery rhyme? Today we are going to look at nursery rhymes that have gone wrong! Have a quick look at Cbeebies nursery rhymes! https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/curations/nursery-rhymes Read the two nursery rhymes and then have a go at completing a rhyme called Teddy bear, Teddy bear . You can either print out the template and fill in the gaps or write out the poem into your books
