ROAR Behavior of the Week When your teacher gives rewards, never ask if you will get one. You should do your best to better yourself, not because you anticipate a reward.
Word of the Day Monday compensate (verb): make up for something unwelcome or unpleasant by exerting an opposite effect Sample sentence: Jeff put in extra hours this afternoon to compensate for his late arrival to work this morning.
Word of the Day Tuesday depict (verb): show or represent Sample sentence: The drawings on the cave walls depict the lives of the earliest men on the planet.
Word of the Day Wednesday eminent (adjective): famous and respected within a particular profession Sample sentence: As one of the most eminent physicists of the twentieth century, Albert Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1921.
Word of the Day Thursday fleeting (adjective): lasting for a very short time Sample sentence: During the winter months, we are happy to get a fleeting day of warm temperatures.
Word of the Day Friday immobile (adjective): unable to move or be moved freely or easily Sample sentence: The deer stood immobile among the trees.
