What’s new in third grade
Grading – A, B, C, N, U
The primary grading scale does not equate to the intermediate scale

C = Satisfactory (is in the process of understanding concepts, ideas, objectives or

Our goal as your child’s teachers is to have open communication in order to ensure that all
students are successful this year. There are several ways that we will be communicating with
our families this year. They will include the following:
Student agendas:
The expectation is for students to take their agendas home daily and have parents/guardians
sign their agenda. In the agenda, we will communicate any issues or concerns with behaviors.
In the front of the agenda, you will find a list of behavior indicators' that are found on the
students report cards. If a student gets more than 4 of these behavior indicators within a nine
weeks then they will receive a
N
 on their report card.
Classroom Dojo :
We are also using Class Dojo to promote positive behaviors in the classroom. Students work
each day on earning positive points. Please be sure to log into your child’s Dojo account so
that you can see how they are doing with their points. Each teacher has their own class Dojo
store where kids can purchase items with their points. If you need another invitation to set
up your own Dojo account, please let your child’s teacher know.
