  1. KS3 TERM 6 2021 High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  2. Choose Carefully! Enrichment Choices Check you have the equipment/kit needed Choose 3 options in order of preference Make sure you choose something you really enjoy! Once you have your enrichment group, you will not be able to change. Students in Aladdin production must stay with this group. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  3. 1 Film Club KS3 Come along to Film Club to watch a variety of films from different genres. Some films you may have seen but some you may have never heard of! You will have the opportunity to discuss and critique the films; What did you like?; What would have been a better ending?; Would different actors have improved the film? High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  4. 2 Science Club KS3 This club will take you to the cutting edge of scientific education and will help you develop your current scientific knowledge. Sessions will include experiments, investigations and opportunities that you don t get in your usual lessons. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  5. 3 Art Club KS3 Join this group to get involved in all things arty . Using different mediums to create pieces of scenery and props for the SAA production of Aladdin. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  6. 4 Girls Tag Rugby KS3 (Girls) Tag rugby is a non-contact team game in which each player wears a belt that has two velcro tags attached to it. The mode of play is based on rugby league. Attacking players attempt to dodge, evade and pass a rugby ball while defenders attempt to prevent them scoring by "tagging" pulling a velcro attached tag from the ball carrier. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  7. 5 Indoor Football KS3 Come along and build on your football skills so that you can perform at maximum levels in competitive games. Learn more about the principles of attack and defence in football. You will be encouraged to think about how to use core skills, strategies and tactics to outwit the opposition in practice and matches. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  8. 6 Showtime Aladdin Only students in the production This summer we are bringing Show Time back with a bang, performing Disney s Aladdin! We are looking for all Princesses, Street Rats, Monkeys, Parrots, Sultans and sorcerers to jump on this magic carpet and join us in ending the school year on a high. Each week your year group will either sing, dance or act key scenes from the show! Preparing some of you for auditions for key parts in Aladdin! If you want to be part of the chorus then this is the enrichment for you. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  9. 7 Natural History Club KS3 We will be watching wildlife documentaries, learning about the evolution of species. We will also create a display celebrating David Attenborough s life and achievements in his wildlife documentary making. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  10. 8 Boardgames Club KS3 Take you mind off technology and compete in a variety of traditional but fun board games. Go boardgame crazy!!! Design and make your own boardgame. Our popular games will include: Draughts, Solitaire, Card Games, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and many more! High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  11. 9 Cross Country 5K KS3 Can you beat the teacher at the 5k challenge? Get fit and train with a 5k cross-country run every week. Set weekly times and see if you can beat your own personal goal or beat you friends times. This will improve your stamina, fitness and core strength. If you get good enough we could start entering inter-school races. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  12. 10 Debating Current Affairs KS3 Debating current affairs is for students of all abilities to develop speaking skills in a fun way. There will be different activities to help you with critical thinking and confident communication. It will also help you to become more informed about political and global affairs. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  13. 11 Dungeons & Dragons KS3 Dungeons and Dragons is a fantasy tabletop role playing game. Players can create their own characters to play and embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting. The Dungeon Master acts as the game s referee and storyteller, while maintaining the setting in which the adventures occur. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  14. 12 STEM KS3 Come along to STEM to find out how to use Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills in order to design and build exciting projects e.g. rocket cars, gliders, drones. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  15. 13 Dodgeball KS3 Dodgeball is a team sport in which players on two teams try to throw balls and hit opponents, while avoiding being hit themselves. The objective of each team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls, catching a ball thrown by an opponent, or inducing an opponent to commit a violation, such as stepping outside the court. High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  16. 14 Drawing plein air KS3 Every week we will grab our drawing boards, stools and materials and DRAW outside. We will explore how to draw landscapes, architecture and moving people. You will have the opportunities to use a range of materials including: graphite sticks, charcoal, water colour and ready mix paint. We will also be inspired by some famous artists. Be prepared to work on a larger scale than you re are used to. See you there artists! High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  17. 15 Zumba KS3 "Zumba" is Latin dance fitness class. Each workout involves highly choreographed movements set to upbeat salsa and international music. Essentially, Zumba is a fun, high-energy workout experience that keeps you excited to exercise and coming back for more! High Expectations lead to High Achievers
