David: A Man After Gods Own Heart With today s lesson, I would like for us to study David, the 2ndKing of the United Kingdom Period in Bible history. In doing some examining of his character, we will make note of the good things he did, as well as the bad; seeking to learn from his example. We will especially note some things about his role as a leader, as a husband, and as a father.
David: The Man, Husband, and Father As a shepherd, he had occasion in his life to go a distance to save one sheep. He fought against lion & bear, and prevailed (1Sam. 17:33-37). Heb. 12:12-15; 1 Cor. 15:58

David was an incredibly humble man, despite the high praise showered upon him from others it didn t change him rather, he accepted the blessings with tremendous gratitude and clarity (2 Sam. 7:18-29). He lost many of his kids due to his wrongs committed. But he still reached out, despite their errors, to try and save them (2 Sam. 12:10).
