A circular roller of radius 20 cm and of weight 400 N rests on smooth horizontal surface and is held in
position by an inclined bar AB of length 60 cm as shown in figure. A horizontal force of 500 N is acting at
B. Find the tension in the bar AB and the rection at C.

A force P is applied at O to the string AOB as shown in below figure. If the
tension is each part of the string is 50 N, Find the the magnitude and
direction of force P for equilibrium conditions.

A ball of weight 120 N rest in a right angled groove as shown in figure. The
sides of the groove are iclined at an angle of 30

 to the horizontal. If
all the surfaces are smooth then determine the reactions R
A
 and R

 at the
points of contact.

  1. Chapter 2 Equilibrium and Free body diagram

  2. Draw the free body diagram

  3. A circular roller of radius 20 cm and of weight 400 N rests on smooth horizontal surface and is held in position by an inclined bar AB of length 60 cm as shown in figure. A horizontal force of 500 N is acting at B. Find the tension in the bar AB and the rection at C.

  4. A force P is applied at O to the string AOB as shown in below figure. If the tension is each part of the string is 50 N, Find the the magnitude and direction of force P for equilibrium conditions.

  5. A ball of weight 120 N rest in a right angled groove as shown in figure. The sides of the groove are iclined at an angle of 300and 600to the horizontal. If all the surfaces are smooth then determine the reactions RAand Rcat the points of contact.
