What we learn from this year can build our resilience. What I'm saying is this: Don't finish this school year without engaging in your own reflection. And offer those you lead, coach, and supervise the opportunity to reflect and identify their learnings. Finally, engage in this process together! By reflecting as a team, you'll build collective resilience. Sharing With Others in Your Institution It is important that others: know what is happening recognize the efforts that are being made see the impact the events are having We tend to add up numbers of participants and dollars spent as well as rating events but who sees those metrics? Photos, testimonials, feedback from participants, feedback from teachers/school staff, feedback from college staff, might be interesting additions. One of the goals should be to be to increase awareness and appreciation of the value of these events in the minds of college and secondary school staff and college and board administration. That may lead to better buy-in. 10 SCWI/IJECT

RPT 15 Algoma Virtual Grade 8 Tours Part 1: View the Sault College 3D Virtual Tour of Labs and Buildings. One prize winner per school. Part 2: May 3 to 5, 2021 (Monday to Wednesday) with 13 Sault College Program Presenters 9:00 a.m. presentations from Business, BScN/Practical Nursing, Civil engineering and Culinary 10:00 a.m. presentations from Fitness & Health, Film Production, Game Art, Hairstylist and PSW 1:00 p.m. presentations by Criminal Justice, IT Studies, Outdoor Studies (NEOS) and OTA/PTA 45 minutes each presentation 45 eligible Grade 8 schools, 32 registered 30 participated (540 students total) Each school registered for nine workshops (3/day) When on campus they only visited for one day for 3 workshops Our virtual event enabled them to see more program areas Approximately 1100 logged in on each day to enjoy workshops
For a first attempt at this you did a great job! Online anything is hard to do. Well done to all of you on what I see was a successful event! RPT 15 Algoma Virtual Grade 8 Tours MS Teams using meeting invites Minor glitches With the lockdown, we sent meeting invites in MS Teams to all the grade 8 teachers. HSCDSB board shared their screen through Google Meet. ADSB had each student log in individually as they also use Teams to teach remotely. Enterprising students at the first block of presentations found the Mute All button and disrupted presentations. Karen quickly changed settings in all the other meetings for all three days once a board teacher indicated where to change the settings as he had similar problems in the past and had learned how to fix the access rights. Students were very engaged Feedback Survey Positive really enjoyed being able to see more than three programs. Have a better understanding of Sault College and all it offers. Wished it was in person. Enjoyed Sault College s 3D Virtual Tour of our labs/campus. Preferred the presentations with activities/interaction (using Menti, Kahoot, games, activities, breakout rooms). Enjoyed the information on dual credits and are looking forward to participating in high school.
