IPAs in VOCES, Nostra Storia Include all three modes of Communication Assess student abilities to communicate in a real-life situation and are aligned with ACTFL Can Do statement Backwards-designed so that activities in the unit will prepare students to communicate on a specific topic
Using IPAs in class 1. backwards planning & connections to EQs, AP Themes, Can-DO statements, PQAs 2. tips and tricks for setting your students up for success - scaffolding 3. managing the IPAs in class 4. grading them when they are completed Let s see some examples!
Assigning the IPAs IPAs will take 1-3 days to complete Have students complete the individual tasks in the order that they appear,(i.e. interpretive reading) will help them complete a later task (i.e. interpersonal writing) Honors vs. Regular levels - you know your students and your timeframe & abilities Headphones VS HW assignment Recording for Speaking IPA can be done at home if tech tools missing or put your students in groups and have them complete the activities in class ( this works better for my regular classes) ADD your OWN ( vocab, grammar assessments)
