said
 e
told
Apesar de ambos significarem “disse”, devemos usar
said
, toda vez
Ex:
Mike
said
 that he helped Ana.

Usamos
told
contado.

Ex:
Mike
told
 Ana that he helped her
.

Resumindo:

‘say
’.

In this English lesson for 9th graders, students learn about reported speech through a scenario where a student, Ana, asks her classmates for help with a research project. The classmates respond with reasons they cannot help, and Ana later recounts their responses using reported speech. The lesson also covers the difference between "said" and "told" in reported speech, along with examples of direct and indirect speech.
