Back to Basics - Current Parental Engagement Strategies to engage all parents and families meaningfully and effectively in the child's learning journey Family Learning Provide relevant Family Learning opportunities based on needs and interests of families in the setting or school Legislation / national documents Consider requirements under new legislation and national documents as they emerge e.g. National Improvement Framework, Scottish Attainment Challenge, The Promise, Morgan Review, Withers Report, National Discussion Definitions Ensure staff and practitioners are aware of the various definitions of Parental Involvement, Parental Engagement, Family Learning and Learning at Home Back to basics Current priorities Thematic Reviews Refer to relevant thematic reviews as they emerge Evidence base Use local and national data to improve knowledge, understand, evidence base, monitor and evaluate PIE Strategy, realign beliefs; and inform planning Professional Learning Engage with Strategic Framework for Parental Involvement, Parental Engagement, Family Learning and Learning at Home For Scotland s learners with Scotland s educators
