‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:39‬ ‭ESV‬‬

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in
my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows
it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was
being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the
earth.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were
written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are
your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:13-17

THE BIG IDEA: HUMBLY LOVING OURSELVES COMES
FROM SEEING OURSELVES AS GOD SEES US.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

You are the one person you never get away from!

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

WE DON'T LOVE OURSELVES SO MUCH WHERE WE
START MAKING OURSELVES GOD (PRIDE) INSTEAD WE
LOVE OURSELVES OUT OF OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH
GOD (HUMILITY)

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

Quote: Humility is truth—the whole truth—about us. We can
learn to accept ourselves as we are, while acknowledging the
areas in which we need to grow.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

Quote:
"I know God loves me, so I can love what God chooses to
love in me. I don't love everything I do, but I accept myself
because God accepts me. I know I need to change, and I
want to change. In fact, I believe God is changing me daily,
but during this process, I will not reject what God accepts. I'll
accept myself as I am right now, knowing that I will not
always remain this way."

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

HUMILITY PROCLAIMS GOD'S HOLINESS OVER OUR
SINFULNESS AND HELPS TO SHAPE OUR IDENTITY IN
CHRIST.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

IDENTITY CRISIS IS THE OUTCOME OF NOT LOVING
YOURSELF.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

WHEN WE LOVE OURSELVES IN A HUMBLE WAY GOD
CAN WORK IN US TO FORM OUR IDENTITY.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

David saw himself through the lens of His creator!

What lens are you seeing yourself out of? Is it through the
lens of God or through your personal lens?

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

It didn't matter how David felt.

Quote: My feelings of inadequacy are simply feelings. They
can’t show me the full truth about myself—who I am in God’s
eyes.

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

David knew where his worth came from.

Quote: External circumstances, especially the ways others
react to us, can make us question our own value. We need to
base our own sense of self-worth on the knowledge that God
wants us in the world.

"in your book were written, every one of them, the days that
were formed for me, "

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

It didn't matter who criticized David.

Quote: When we are criticized and start to feel overwhelmed,
we can remember that nothing anyone says has the power to
change our value in God’s eyes.

"How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is
the sum of them!”

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

What stops us from humbly loving ourselves?

THE BIG IDEA: HUMBLY LOVING OURSELVES COMES
FROM SEEING OURSELVES AS GOD SEES US.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

PRAYER:
Father,

Thank you for loving me and creating me in your image.
Thank you for taking the time to create me for Your purpose
and for Your glory. Help me to humbly love myself just as
You love me. Help me to see myself as you see me.

RESET: MY LOVE FOR MYSELF

I desire to put on lenses that allow me to love how you
created me. Help me to realize that my self-worth comes from
you and not from me or others.

I desire to humbly love
myself so that you can work in me and create my identity.

In
Jesus Name, Amen!
