Stay hydrated: Drink water Boost your immune system Avoid the Hateful Eight Seed Oils which cause inflammation: canola, corn, soy, cottonseed, sunflower, safflower, ricebran and grapeseed: https://drcate.com/the-hateful-eight-enemy-fats-that-destroy-your- health/ Don t buy junk food, you ll just eat it! Try to exercise for 30 minutes each day. It s worth it both short term and longterm, and it reduces stress
Go outside every day and enjoy nature: Get some fresh air and sunshine Stay connected with people you care about Reconnect with old friends Limit your social media time Limit the time you spend watching the news Practice 20/20/20. For every 20 minutes of screen time, look at a spot 20 feet away for 20 seconds Limit the number of times you check your email
Spend time each week cleaning your living space Do things that you enjoy (what did you like to do as a child/adolescent?) Smile, even though you don t feel like it Sing/Listen to music Learn something new Make a weekly schedule with goals, time allotments, to do items, flex time and R&R
Compartmentalize worrying. Limit your worry to 10 minutes each day, like from 5:00-5:10. Don t be afraid to cry. We are all grieving some type of loss. Don t be afraid to ask for help: It is a sign of strength You don t have to be perfect: Allow yourself to make mistakes. Don t beat yourself up. Take mental health days off
When you feel anxious, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Try to slow down your breathing. Focus on gratitude. Try to avoid self-pity and think about what you are grateful for. What can you do to make life better for others? A smile, a phone call, a gift, a donation, giving someone your time, volunteering?
