Tips and advice for Home Learning
Staying Motivated Set daily goals Aim to complete at least one daily activity Try and get other people in the household involved in your learning Get out in the garden and aim for at least 20 minutes physical activity to help your mental well-being.
Staying on track Make sure you include plenty of breaks throughout the day When taking a break be sure to get a healthy snack and drink plenty of water. Mornings are good time to exercise as it wakes up your mind and gets you ready for the day ahead.
Rewards for your learning When you have completed your activities or tasks give yourself a little treat or reward . This could be any of the following: Grab a healthy snack Watch a little bit of television Listen to some music Play with your favourite toy Read your favourite book Anything that you enjoy!

Setting achievable targets We find ourselves in a situation which we have never been in before So trying to learn from home is something new for everyone. There are more distractions at home so try and keep them to minimum. Get your family members involved in your learning that way it will make it more fun and enjoyable. Make sure you give yourself plenty of breaks so you don t become bored and stay motivated to do your best.
Turning your home in to a school Get up early and start your day with a good breakfast to get you motivated and ready to enjoy your learning Try and stick to your timetable which you have created Find somewhere comfortable to work Make sure you take plenty of breaks to keep you motivated Maybe sit at a desk or the dining table where you can sit properly
Super foods When working from home it is easy to reach for unhealthy food such as crisps, chocolate and biscuits . Remember that these foods are filled with salt and sugars which can make you feel tired. So instead reach for the fruit and vegetables which will boost your energy levels and keep you concentrating. Fruit and berries These are full of vitamins . They make the perfect snack if your hungry between meals. Strawberries are highly nutritious and low in both carbohydrates and calories Vegetables Carrots are full of fibre and vitamin K and make a quick snack between activities. Broccoli contains a good amount of protein compared to other vegetables Potatoes are full of carbohydrates and every nutrient your body needs
Hygiene Please make sure that you and your family are currently following the governments latest guidelines. These are: Wash hands regularly for 20 seconds (Sing the Happy Birthday song twice) Stay home If you need to go out stay 2 metres apart. This is called Social Distancing
