  1. Math Choice Board A cake recipe calls for you to use 1/2 cup of milk, 1 4 cup of oil, and 1/3 cup of water. How much liquid was needed to make the cake? Flip a coin 25 times. Write a fraction to show how many times it comes up heads and how many times it comes up tails. Write a word problem whose answer is 154. Have someone solve the problem. Choose 2 word problems and solve. Show your work. A lawn water sprinkler rotates 65 degrees and pauses. It then rotates 25 more degrees. What is the total degree rotation of the sprinkler? To cover a full 360 degrees, how many more degrees will it have to move? 15 friends want to order sub sandwiches for dinner. They predict that each friend will eat 1/3 of a sub. How many subs should they order? What if there were 9 friends? Measure your height in inches. Measure another family member. What is the difference in height?

  2. Social Studies Choice Board (choose 1) Timeline: Create an Illustrated timeline of an historical figure. For each event be sure to include a title of the event, description, date and visual. Write an Essay: Write an essay about the contributions and significance of an historical figure. Be sure to write in formal language and cite your sources. Write a Letter: Write a letter to the figure describing your opinion about their contributions to society. Be sure to include correct letter format. Trading Card: Create a trading card similar to a baseball card. Be sure to include a picture of the figure and detailed information about their significance related to the unit of study. X-Ray Poster: Create a large poster of a historical figure (the entire body) and place flaps for major body parts. Under each flap write information about the person. For example, under the head flap, write what the person loves. Under the foot flap, write about where the person has been, under the mouth flap write what the person has said. Be sure to include at least 8 flaps. Your Own Idea: Do you have a creative idea that is not on this list? Just review it with your teacher first.

  3. Art for Everyone ELA Choice Board Essential Question: How do different art forms impact people in different ways? How do different art forms impact people in different ways? Once Upon a Time: Once Upon a Time: Write a story using one of these settings as your inspiration! To be or not to be: To be or not to be: Write about a type of art you really love and explain why. Then, write about a type of art you do not like (or something you thing is NOT really art) and explain why. (Use the words classic, tribute, provoking, and striking) Research: Research: Choose an artist (writer, musician, painter, singer, sculptor, designer, etc.) and create a presentation on their life, inspiration, and craft. Be sure to include text features. Reader s Theatre: Reader s Theatre: Read the play Mural of Arts. If you could create a mural at WIS, what would it show, who would make it, and what would you say to convince the school to let you make it? After you write, create a mini version of the mural. Digital Station: Digital Station: Watch the EdPuzzles on 1. History and Styles of Rap: Video 1 & Video 2 2. History of Blues 3. History of Country/Folk In a Venn Diagram or paragraphs, compare and contrast these styles of music. Create it: Create it: Create a masterpiece using whatever type of art you like best. Then explain in a couple paragraphs what inspired you and what it symbolizes to you. What emotions do you hope it provokes in others or what message do you hope it sends to the public?

  4. Science Choice Board Which energy do you think is the most important? Give 2 pieces of evidence that support your answer. Explain why energy is important to our every day life. (at least one paragraph) Create a 5 question multiple choice quiz on energy. Provide an answer key. Create your own definitions and draw a picture of the following words: insulator, conductor, hydro-electricity, solar electricity, and static electricity. Create a circuit and label all the parts. (draw a picture) Create a list of magnetic objects in your house. Use a magnet to test your theory.
