THIS MORNING Why Resolutions? What's the Difference? Goals How to set goals I have a goal, now what???
RESOLUTIONS Many assume they will fail Often the same few... Like the Gym Lack in metrics for success
RESOLUTION VS GOALS
RESOLUTIONS PROS CONS Promotes self-reflection Can be an uphill battle Triggers desire to be better Lose sight of steps/process Supports Change Can increase self-criticism Lack of commitment
A DREAM IS JUST A DREAM... A GOAL IS A DREAM WITH A PLAN AND A DEADLINE
SMART GOAL POOR EXAMPLE: I will lose weight. BETTER EXAMPLE: I will lose 15 pounds by December 31 by eliminaging sugar from my diet and through a routine of walking 10,000 steps a day and exercising.
WHAT NEXT?
PLANDOACHIEVE Divide your calendar into days, weeks, months Priorities one before another, simultaneously Check off each accomplishment (no matter how seemingly small) Focus on the here and now
