Creating an Educational Epistemology Through Creating an Educational Epistemology Through Digital Scholarship Digital Scholarship The problem of education researchers dominating what counts as educational research in which what is educational is understood as learning with values that carry hope for the flourishing of humanity. Felice Levine, Executive Director of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) has recommended to editors of AERA publications that they should use the term education research rather than educational research. Geoff Whitty, Former President of the British Educational Research Association (BERA) advocated the use of education research to characterise the whole field whilst suggesting that the term educational research should be reserved for work that is consciously geared towards improving policy and practice.

Digital Scholarship in Living Theory Research Digital Scholarship in Living Theory Research A living-educational-theory is an individual s explanation for their educational influence in their own learning, in the learning of others and in the learning of the social formations that influence practice and understanding. The explanatory principles include values that carry hope for the flourishing of humanity. Empathetic resonance with digital technology can be used, as shown with video, to clarify the meanings of the expression of these values in the course of their emergence in practice.
