DMU Teacher Fellow Scheme Recognises and commends those individuals who have had a transformative impact on the student learning experience at DMU. 1. Disseminate best practice 2. Drive institutional learning and teaching strategies 3. Act as leaders and mentors in learning and teaching
Making Strategic use of TFs / NTFs /CATEs Leading/contributing to strategic learning and teaching projects Leading/contributing to creation of institution-wide learning and teaching strategies /policies Membership or chairing of relevant learning and teaching committees Development and delivery of learning and teaching focussed staff development
Making Strategic use of TFs / NTFs /CATEs Leading bids for internally/externally funded learning and teaching projects. Participation in regional and national learning and teaching networks Showcasing innovative practice in learning and teaching through masterclasses, workshops and showcases
Pipeline to NTF/CATE Vice Chancellor s Distinguished Teaching Awards winners and successful Senior Fellow HEA applicants are mentored as potential DMU Teacher Fellows DMU TF scheme is instrumental in providing a steady pipeline of strong NTF candidates. All recent successes in NTFS / CATE have come from the DMU TF community.
DMU TF Scheme Criteria 1. Evidence of transforming the student learning experience 2. Evidence of leading, influencing and inspiring colleagues 3. Evidence of commitment to and impact of continuing professional development
DMU TF /NTF/CATE community DMU Teacher Fellows are allocated 0.1FTE to engage in teaching & learning activities Teacher Fellows sit on Professional Recognition Scheme panels and mentor candidates The TF, NTF, CATE Community have their own committee which reports to the Centre for Academic Innovation
Grow Your Own NTF DMU Teacher Fellows work closely with DMU NTFs and aspire to develop into an NTF DMU TFs mentor TFs and potential NTFs by including them in Academic Innovation Projects and helping them to disseminate, research, publish and engage with innovative CPD NTF workshops are run by NTFs to support candidates in developing their submissions
The NTF crown DMU encourages NTF applicants to demonstrate their Reach, Value & Impact within the 3 Criteria from as many perspectives as possible The submission is like a crown with different gems sparking from whichever angle you view it
Knit Your Own CATE winning team The TF/NTF community at DMU belong to a strong community which facilitates networking and interactions across disciplines
Knit Your Own CATE winning team Collaboration and Teaching Excellence = CATE By interlocking TFs & NTFs with different perspectives but common aims, CATE teams will evolve CATE teams need strong leadership, often their leaders have already succeeded in collaborative roles
