SOFT TISSUE INJURIES
THERE ARE FOLLOWING TYPES OF SOFT TISSUE

SPRAIN
STRAIN
CONTUSION
ABRASION

INCISION
SPRAIN
It is a ligament injury.it may occur due to
overstretching or tearing of ligament. Many
thing can cause sprain . Falling , twisting or
getting hit can force a point out of its normal
position .This can cause ligaments around the
joint to tear . generally sprain occurs at wrist
joint and ankle joint.
STRAIN
Strain is a muscle injury. Strain can be mild as
well as severe. Sometimes the complete
muscles can be ruptured. It may occur at any
time during the practice or competitions. As a
matter of fact strain is caused by twisting or
pulling a muscle or tendon.it can happen
suddenly or develop over days or weeks.
CONTUSION
Contusion is a muscle injury. A direct hit with
or without any sports equipment can be the
main cause of contusion .In contusion blood
vessels in the muscles are broken and
sometimes bleeding may occur in the muscles.
Stiffness and swelling are common features at
the site of contusion.
ABRAISON
Abrasion is a major skin injury. It usually
occurs due to friction with certain equipment
or a fall over the area where the bone is very
close to the skin . It may be caused by falling
on a hard surface. When someone falls or
slides on the ground , layers of the skin rub off
due to friction. It can occur in basketball court
, kabaddi , athletics hockey football etc.

Dr. Ashish Kumar Dubey, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education, categorizes common sports injuries into soft tissue injuries, bone injuries, and joint injuries. Soft tissue injuries include sprains, strains, contusions, abrasions, lacerations, and incisions. Sprains are ligament injuries often caused by overstretching or tearing, strains are muscle injuries ranging from mild to severe, contusions result from direct hits on muscles, and abrasions are skin injuries from friction or falls during sports activities. By recognizing these injuries, athletes can better prevent and treat them.
